Stage 1: Knockouts — Round 1 Ignites with Swing, Soul and Synth-Pop Energy

Real Figures Don't F.O.L.D officially launched today, with the unveiling of the Contest’s first Stage.

The Knockouts Stage is the Contest’s most unpredictable phase, divided into eight Rounds of four Acts making their case before audiences and supporters.

The 32 shortlisted Acts were allocated to Rounds completely at random — and Round 1 has already delivered a striking mix of styles, stories and ambitions.

From classic big band flair to modern R&B, from experimental electronic soundscapes to 80s-inspired synth-pop, the opening Round reflects the breadth of talent committed to raising awareness of bullying in hobby spaces through music, performance and community spirit.

Round 1: Built on Contrast, Character and Competition

Leading the charge is Max Bellamy and The Moonlight Swingers, driven by optimism and considered by many to be a wildcard entry.

Alongside them is Raya Vibes, a young R&B and Reggae star whose cheerful energy and passion have already made her a compelling presence.

Also in the mix are Sonder Drift, whose experimental ambient sound has earned them attention as one of the Contest’s most distinctive independent voices.

Completing the Round are Synth & Son, bringing their unique brand of nostalgic synth-pop.

Voices from the Acts

“I believe in the joy this music can bring, and I want to succeed for the band as much as for myself,” said Max Bellamy. “We’re here to give people something uplifting, something that lasts.”

“I’m always looking for the next vibe, but I never forget the work behind it,” said Raya Vibes. “This Contest is about more than performing — it’s about showing up with heart.”

A Contest with Purpose Behind Every Performance

As the first Stage begins, Round 1 promises early intrigue, with the possibility of surprise breakthroughs. With favourites and underdogs sharing the same spotlight, every performance carries weight — and every audience response could shape what comes next.

CATAWOL Records is proud to support a Contest that pairs artistic excellence with a meaningful cause, using the power of music to spotlight adult bullying in hobby spaces and encourage stronger, kinder communities.

Follow the Action

Fans are encouraged to follow the Knockouts Stage closely, and support the Acts as the Contest unfolds.

With the first Round underway, and the first votes coming in, the road ahead begins here — and the next breakthrough Act could emerge at any moment.
